The Grand Prix of Portugal was an exciting affair. Defending World MX2 champion Antonio Cairoli returned to form taking a 1-1 victory and Frenchman Sebastien Pourcel added to his Faenza and Namur victories of 2007, taking his third GP victory of his career. Red Bull KTM rider Tommy Searle has not had the best start to the 2008 season. A crash in Spain last weekend cost him any chance of victory and his opening round performance in Holland was also not what he was hoping for. Searle though has plenty of time to improve.
