Musquin out of GP of Sweden
News Saturday 04th July 2009 By Geoff Meyer
Pit Beirer of the Red Bull KTM team held a press conference where he was very critical of the situation and the lack of support Musquin has received from his former team and that was the reason KTM came in to help this 17 year old man.
"I think everybody is expecting some wording about the Marvin (Musquin) and KTM situation," Beirer said. "We can't comments on that, there is a legal case going on, and I want to say sorry that we didn't keep you updated all the time. Now of course we have a disappointing situation which is bad for the sport and also for Marvin. Marvin will not ride this weekend and I want to tell you how everything came together.
"Some time ago I was talking to Marvin about next year, but we didn't talk about this year in that moment, He told me he wasn't paid from his team for one and a half years and he doesn't get any prizemoney, nothing. The NGS Honda team signed a 17 year old rider and they don't pay him and we have a rider who gives his all. There was one day a decision that I said yes I will give you a bike. He has some good races, but then they went to court and we will respect the courts decision. I trust in the jugded if they look into this and come to a good solution.
Musquin comment
"For me I am disappointed that I will not participate in this race. They (the team) entered two riders anyway, so there was not a place for me to ride for them, as they are only allowed two riders per GP."
