Silly Season 2009/2010 - It's Nearly Over

With Ken De Dycker signing with the Ricci Yamaha team recently everything is coming into order in the silly season. Very few riders are still looking for a ride, the most noticeable being Josh Coppins, Joel Roelants, Kevin Strijbos, Billy Mackenzie, Gareth Swanepoel and Tanel Leok. Of course a long list of MX2 riders will also be looking for rides in the MX1 class.

With CAS Honda yet to sign a rider, Martin Honda also unsure about their future, Aprilia looking for four of five riders, the new Georges Jobe team and LS Motors Honda all looking for riders there are still plenty of seats to be filled.

Coppins has a few options, with CAS Honda, and Aprilia, but his main focus might just be racing in Australia. Mackenzie who was strangly rumored to have signed with CAS Honda is also looking at a possible ride in Australia, but could also sign with CAS Honda in the coming weeks.

Mackenzie is struggling with his form and injuries he is one of the more capable GP riders, so something will turn up for him if he doesn't sign with CAS Honda.

Not suffering from the World credit crisis as much as the Japanese the European brands of KTM, Aprilia, TM and CCM are all looking to have strong teams, with Aprilia wanting to field five riders.

TM want another leading MX1 rider, while KTM is of course the most powerful team in the paddock.
