Ryan will be racing in the in the MX1 class on the Moto/Twisted 7 Honda vacated by team leader Bryan Mackenzie. Pulse racing have pulled off the scoop of the year for British motocross in getting Ryan to come over and race.

Jim Peters and Justin Green from Pulse Racing, along with their Swedish importer Ola Svensson have a long standing relationship with Ryan and have been in talks with Hughes for some time to come over and do the business, he’s finally obliged and in typical Ryno fashion he’s only interested in winning!!

Ryan is now looking forward to coming back to Europe where he raced the World GP’s in 1999 and finished fourth in the then premier 250cc class. He’ll certainly add spice to the final round of the Maxxis championship and all of the UK riders will be desperate to beat him, no more so than new MX1 champion Brad Anderson who certainly has no regard for reputations.

It’s been a difficult year for the Moto/Twisted 7 Honda outfit after the team leader Bryan Mackenzie was given the opportunity early in the season to race World GP’s with CAS Honda as a replacement for his injured cousin Billy, so the team effectively hasn't had a top 10 MX1 rider for most of the racing season.

So this is great way to try and end the season on a high says Moto/Twisted 7 Honda manager Jeff Perrett. "Jim and Justin and their Swedish importer Ola Svensson have a great relationship with Ryan and have pulled all this together, we're just happy to give Ryan the tools he needs to get the job done and hopefully finish our year on a high.

Especially now our top MX2 rider Rickard Sandberg has damaged his ACL ligament whilst nailing down a fantastic 9th place finish in the second moto at the European Under 21 championship in Denmark and will be out for months" said an excited Perrett.

Ask anyone to name the toughest, most-intimidating guys in motocross, and the name ‘Ryan Hughes’ will undoubtedly be thrown in the mix. Hughes has been a top rider in the AMA motocross series for 15 years and is widely respected as one of the toughest, hard working competitors, not only of his generation but of all time.

With an outstanding list of accomplishments, dedication and fitness Ryan was a top-ten racer in the industry for over 19 years and has raced many different types of events. His list boasts racing Supercross, Motocross Nationals, The FIM World Championships, World Super Cross, Endurocross, Supermoto, GNCC's, WORCS Races, The U.S. Open of Supercross and he was also a three-time attendee of Motocross Des Nations.

Hughes will be flying over a few days before the final round of the Maxxis British event on the 27th September and will be running two mx training schools through Pulse Racing and the Moto/Twisted 7 Honda team while he’s here at the fantastic ‘RocketWorld’ practice facility at Henstridge, Somerset.

He’ll be taking 20 riders on Friday 25th before racing the Maxxis round then again on Monday 28th. Ryan has his own training facility back home in California is now would like to bring all of his experience to UK riders.

One lucky random winner from each school will be awarded with Ryan's race shirt by the man himself. School times - 10am to 4pm. Riding technique. Bike set up. 25th and 28th of Sept max 20 riders a day. Cost per rider and day is £150

If the experience goes well for both Ryan and the Twisted 7 Honda team the likelihood is that Ryan will be back over a couple of times in 2010 as a guest satellite rider for the team to race the Maxxis British championship again and to do more training schools as the Twisted 7 Honda team look towards running several of these throughout the racing season next year.

On top of all this exciting news the lucky winner of the competition to ‘win Bryan’s ride’ will be selected. A couple of months back Moto/Twisted 7 Honda ran the competition through their media partner Moto magazine and MXTrax where they offered up the rare opportunity to be ‘a pro rider’ for the day to replace Bryan Mackenzie for one event only.
