Cosworth, the world’s leading independent supplier of high performance race engines is pleased to announce the launch of its range of high performance componentsdesigned for motocross bikes.
Derived from elite performance components engineered for the BikeIt Cosworth Yamaha team the Cosworth range includes the key items that deliver more power from the standard bike engine.
Headlining the new range are Cosworth engineered and manufactured pistons, forged in the group’s legendary Northampton facility from 2618 high tensile strength aluminium. Cosworth’s high performance designs include state of the art cylinder pressure control features such as anti-scuff and anti-detonation bands, oil drain holes and a bright polished crown - to reduce carbon build up.
To complete the ultimate in high performance pistons, Cosworth employs materials more commonly found in Formula OneTM including diamond-like carbon (DLC) and Cosworth’s patented xylan anti-friction coating to deliver maximum component life.
Cosworth’s high performance pistons are available for 250cc and 450cc models from Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki, Yamaha and the Honda CRF150, in both standard and race specification. Additional components including high performance connecting rods, aggressive profile camshafts and valve springs are also being readied to complete the Cosworth package for motocross power.
