Enduro action - Jonty Edmunds

News Friday 26th February 2010

Austrian energy drink giant Red Bull has signed on as a 2010 partner to the Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship . The agreement was signed after a recent trip to Austria where the championship promoters met and agreed to terms with Red Bull.

"This is really an excellent news for World Enduro." Promoters ABC stated.

"It proves that the interest of this Championship keeps on increasing. We are proud to have Red Bull join our loyal partners as Maxxis, Acerbis or Scorpion, this new deal will offer increase the credibility to the World Enduro"

On Tuesday March 2, 2010, American freestyle legend, Seth Enslow, will attempt to make history and break the existing world record of 157 feet, approximately 47.85 metres, for a successful long distance jump on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle – choosing Sydney’s Barangaroo as the ideal location.

The death defying stunt will recreate an unforgettable Harley-Davidson motorcycle benchmark set by the infamous Evel Knievel in 1975 and a world record most recently set by Bubba Blackwell in Las Vegas, 1999.

With the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and foreshore as the backdrop, and for the first time on Australian shores, the Crusty Demons legend is confident he’ll leave Bubba Blackwell’s 157 feet record for dead on his Harley-Davidson XR1200.

LOCATION: Barangaroo, East Darling Harbour Waterfront, Sydney. Entry via Gate 5 Hickson Rd.
TIME: 9:00am for 9:30am jump.

The recent introduction of the XR1200 to the Harley-Davidson family, a bike reminiscent of the XR750 made famous by Evel Knievel, has prompted a new generation of rebels eager to not only honour Knievel’s legendary status but get one-up on him.

The world record attempt will be broadcast live from Australia, across the globe via www.harleyworldrecordjump.com http://www.harleyworldrecordjump.com.
