VANS TO SUPPORT XTREME ACADEMY

The Honda Xtreme Academy is certainly making further steps forward as Honda Motor Europe is pleased to announce that it is joining forces with Vans to provide more prizes for the top three riders in each country in 2010.
The Xtreme Academy championship riders, which are competing in five countries in the Academy’s inaugural year, now have the opportunity to win themselves a set of Vans shoes, apparel and accessories in addition to a heap load of other exciting prizes. Having had associated with leading riders across the globe, this new deal with the Xtreme Academy marks Vans’ commitment to nurturing young talent.

Vans was established in 1966 in Anaheim, California by Paul Van Doren, who manufactured shoes and sold them directly to the public. As the original action sports footwear company, Vans’ support of riding dates back for more than 40 years. From the early days of skate and surf to the rise of BMX, snowboarding and motocross, Vans has been right there, offering a comprehensive line of footwear and apparel for the ever-progressing action sports community.

Honda Motor Europe welcomes Vans in being apart of the Xtreme Academy, which this year is taking place in the UK, Italy, Sweden, Finland and South Africa for riders contesting the CRF 150R. The national series created by Honda aims to educate young racers on a fourstroke machine, and develop future stars of the sport with its exciting initiatives including training with former World Champion, John Van Den Berk.
