Roczen and Cairoli win on Saturday in Belgium

News Saturday 31th July 2010 By Geoff Meyer

Teka Suzuki rider Ken Roczen and Red Bull KTM rider Antonio Cairoli have won their respective qualification races at the Grand Prix of Limburg today. Roczen took the lead on the opening lap of his moto and won while Cairoli needed to come through the field to get his victory.
In the MX2 qualification race Marvin Musquin led the opening lap but lost his lead when Roczen moved into the top spot. Roczen lead for the remainder of the race although after six laps Jeffrey Herlings passed the Frenchman for second place. The final positions was Roczen, Herlings, Simpson, Musquin and Van Horebeek in fifth place.

The MX1 moto and the Russian tornado Evgeny Bobryshev looked amazing as he led the race early on, but was passed by Antonio Cairoli, Tanel Leok and Steve Ramon in the later stages of the moto.

"I got a good start and rode well,"Roczen said. "I knew it was only 20 minutes and it wasn't too bad, I felt fit. I hope to make up some points. I am not thinking of the championship, we just see how it ends. Actually it's just another race and I have pole positions before. For tomorrow it's good for the start. I showed today I can ride good in the sand. It is fast now, but with the practice it gets more bumps."
