With strong winds and downpours of rain on the Sunday it made the tough Canada Heights track course even tougher for the Red Bull Pro, Fuchs-Silkolene 2 Stroke and Red Bull Elite Youth Cup racers but once again they all excelled and laid on some aggressive, bar banging action as they coped with changing track conditions ranging from some loamy dirt in places to hard pack, concrete like soil that went like ice when the rain came down.

The Live Tour FMX tour also suffered with the conditions with the second scheduled show being forced to cancel because of an untimely downpour and it didn’t get off to the greatest of starts for the one and only show as the UK’s top performing rider Chris Birch over jumped on his first warm up attempt and flat landed heavily – the result – a suspected broken wrist! But in true rock n roll fashion the show went on and Jamie Squibb, Kris Brock and Frederik ‘Frog’ Berggren still delivered a great show with the strong 5,000 plus crowd showing their appreciation, especially when Frog threw in a backflip in the windy conditions – fair play to that man!

The trade area and Suzuki MX Experience was a mass of people as they took up the offer of some great deals and the chance to have a little taster of what motocross is all about and the lads at Pirelli service truck hardly had time to stop for a brew! Once again the Saturday night Red Bull Party had high spirits and reflected that festival atmosphere, but the racing is what it’s all about and the fans were not let down.

All weekend, right from the first Red Bull Elite Youth Cup Rookie race through to the final Fuchs-Silkolene 125cc two stroke race it was an incident packed weekend with riders crashing out, ramming into each other and showing some sublime talent to cope with the ever changing conditions. With only two rounds remaining it’s getting interesting at the sharp end of all the championships as we get nearer to finding our champions on the year.

Another Red Bull Elite Youth Cup rider was chosen for the Fox Boot camp – this time it went to Rookie rider Jordan Divall who thoroughly deserved to be selected as he showed signs of some serious speed and never stopped charging all weekend long. Once again the Elite Youth Cup riders were giving everything just to get to the first corner to try and win the holeshot prizes on offer from Silkolene, Ogio, Pirelli, Fox and Nitro Circus and inevitably that resulted in carnage on numerous occasions!

With the next round at the iconic Foxhill Moto Park, near Swindon on the 4/5^th September everything is set for the penultimate round of the series before the big finale at Wakes Colne in Essex on the 18/19^th as the Red Bull Pro Nationals get ready to go even bigger and even better for 2011 and head into mainland Europe. Game on!
