MX3 World Motocross Championship set to change
News Wednesday 08th September 2010
Mr. Giuseppe Luongo, President of Youthstream and Dr. Wolfgang Srb, FIM/CMS President, hosted an important meeting with MX3 organizers, team managers and team representatives on 2 September in a very friendly and open atmosphere in Geneva. They informed about the relaunch of the FIM MX3 World Championship as of 2011.
The major changes will be:
- MX3 teams and riders will no longer have to pay the service fee
- The MX1 / MX2 team that enters a MX3 World Champion will not have to pay the service fee for that rider
- Youthstream will guarantee a place in a MX1 / MX2 team for the MX3 World Champion in the following year and that team will receive financial support.
- Financial support and freight costs will be offered to riders participating to the MX3 overseas rounds (planned for 2011: Chile, Argentina, Brazil),
- media and TV coverage will again be increased via Youthstream TV.
- Youthstream will strongly request National Federations not to hold National Championship events on the same weekend as the MX3 events.
- Youthstream will ask the National Federations to enter a maximum number of riders (from the National Federation as well as from the neighbouring countries).
- The fast growing FIM Women´s Motocross World Championship will be organized together with MX3, thus offering a lot of additional value.
