Adrenalin Arena Cup - 9 and 10 December

News Saturday 11th November 2011 By Tinus Nel

It was just short of a year ago that we reported on the grand opening ceremony of the Adrenalin Arena in Sõmerpalu , Estonia. Within the space of a year, the great polyvalent facility has become an integral part of the training routines of many riders from Estonia, Latvia, Finland, the Ukraine, Russia and even further afield.
The management of the Arena have therefore accomplished their goal of providing a quality permanent supercross training facility, the only fully-enclosed facility of its kind in Europe. The objective from the very start was to bring major events to the Arena as well, however, and the inaugural Adrenalin Arena Cup event brings this to fruiting.

The event will take place on 9 and 10 December 2011, and the organizers are well along the way to contracting AMA stalwart Jason Thomas to be present. He will be joined in the line up by other international riders from a number of countries, as well as a full complement of riders from Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and, of course, Estonia.

True to the name of the Arena, the event promises an adrenaline-pumping two days, with hot racing, freestyle shows, a Miss Supercross contest and live music. Reasonably-priced accommodation is available near the Arena, and Estonia is a delightful travel destination.

Budget airlines fly to Tallinn and Riga and Tartu, and there is bus transport available to Voru, the nearest town. Take a walk on the wild side – check out the Adrenalin Arena cup for some hot winter racing action.

THE ARENA

The Adrenalin Arena is Europe's only permanent fully-enclosed motocross facility. The building measures 120m x 60m x 15m and features a track of some 500m. The track can be adapted to suit the needs of all riders, from hobby riders to all-out professionals.

The Arena boasts state of the art facilities and equipment, such as a fully equipped office with LAN internet, fully-equipped gym, sauna, showers, cloak rooms, workshop area, and a kitchen. It fully complies with the latest safety codes as far as fire safety, exhaust extraction and air management is concerned. It has an installed lap timing system and all facilities needed to present a professional supercross race.

Spectators are well catered for in the arena. The two-tier pavilion gives everyone a 100% view over the track , and the top level has facilities for VIP entertainment as well. There is a huge, paved parking area with power – and water connections, which gives riders the option of camping alongside the facility. In its first year of operation, the Arena garnered great exposure and interest from across Europe.

It has received visitors from far and wide, and its regular clients include riders from Finland, Latvia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and other countries. With Avo Leok's training facility adjacent and a couple of good outdoor tracks nearby, the Arena has become a hub for many motocross riders as their training camp.

The arena management is actively promoting this, and the net is spreading wider and garnering interest from rider all across Europe, including some top level riders.
