Antonio Cairoli in for Starcross pre-season International

Five times World Motocross Champion Antonio Cairoli will race the season opening Starcross International at the Mantova circuit in Italy. While it has already been announced that Valence in France will also run an International on the same weekend it starts to look likely that many rider will end up at Mantova, hopefully making for two good pre-season events. MANTOVA, November 25th 2011 – After the conclusion of a strong two testing days at the Tazio Nuvolari Circuit, in a incredible spring atmosphere (15°C), the five time Motocross World Campion Mr. Antonio Cairoli had announced the agreement with Mr. Giovanni Pavesi, president of Mantovano Motoclub Tazio Nuvolari, to race the 29° edition of classical Airoh Mantova Starcross. The event it is fixed by FMI and FIM on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February 2012. Assisted by the technical staff of team de Carli Racing and KTM Racing, the rider had tested two different bikes, the old KTM 350cc in version 2011 and the 2012 machine, with GET electronics, Akrapovic and WP new material. It is the first training for the Due Sicilie ace, after the Motocross of Nations injury suffered in September. Cairoli had completed 120 laps, the team don’t’ have communicated the best lap time. The Tazio Nuvolari Circuit record it is 1’’52”180 maked by Antonio Cairoli/KTM on the free practices of Gran Premio Lombardia 2010. Mantova Starcross confirm again his centrality in the motocross season, and from today the Mantovano Motoclub working very hard to create a new fantastic edition of this famous italian motorsport event.
