This weekend of 5th and 6th of May sees the former Grand Prix track of Culham, Oxfordshire in England hosting what is being touted as a weekend of Vintage Motocross. The sandy hillside circuit overlooking the River Thames is set to feature riders not only from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales but to give a truly international flavour once again, entrants from Europe and further afield will be competing.

What started off as a 40th birthday treat for sidecar aficionado Kevin Daniels has grown to envelope not only twin shock, Evo and modern sidecars but a round of the highly acclaimed “Dave Thorpe Evo” championship With interest in Evo motocross expanding rapidly in the UK, an additional former GP circuit to join the immensely popular Farleigh Castle “ Evo des Nations” can only be good for a traditional family oriented branch of the sport.

The Evo solo class is split into three groups , Dave Thorpe 500, Rob Herring 250 and Paul Malin 125. Each class has 4 motos with the top 13 from each competing in a superfinal. The sidecar classes feature some of Britains current top crews running alongside twin-shock and pre 2000 Evo class sidecars.

Demonstration motos will feature Evo quads and a sight not seen on a motocross track here for 25 years –trikes. An introduction to both air and water cooled pre 90 schoolboy bikes will also feature. Up to date information will be found on either Culham moto-park website or club-moto-retro.
