Matterley Basin - Motocross Heaven

There is no circuit like it on the FIM World Motocross Championship calendar. Matterley Basin is something special. a circuit layed out in the countryside, in rolling hills and circled by trees and green grass. This is Motocross returning to it's birthplace.

What might surprise many people is that the first ever Motocross race was held just 50 kilometres from the Matterley Basin circuit, where the British Grand Prix will be held on August 16, 17, 18 and 19. Motocross is not a very different sport than it was back in 1924 when it was first run. Motocross began as Scrambles and the first known Scrambles event was held at Camberley in Surrey in England.

Dunlop supports Honda European 150 Championship

Dunlop will supply tyres for the new Honda European 150 Championship. The series is the new junior support class to the FIM Motocross World Championship and is a stage for young talent from around the world. Motocross riders aged between eleven and 14 will compete in five events on identical Honda CRF 150 R machines.

Heading to Thunder Valley - AMA Nats

The highly anticipated 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, kicked off last Saturday in sunny California, where the race action lived up to the off-season hype. Ryan Villopoto and Ken Roczen stand tall as the guys to beat after round one.

Billy Mackenzie and his Broadford

Scotsman Billy Mackenzie has highlighted the importance of his moto two victory at Broadford’s fourth round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals, sealing him his third podium of the 2013 season. While not on the pace of Todd Waters in the opening rounds the Scot is coming good.

Ramon Stops with UK Bid

UK motocross fans present at the last ACU Maxxis British Championship round at Milton Park will have witnessed the last outing for Steve Ramon on a Buildbase Honda. The team and particularly Steve`s mechanic Will Irvine have worked hard with Ramon since last winter but the two-time Belgian World Champion has not managed to get to grips with our domestic motocross championships, a situation reflected in his results.

Hangtown Nationals - Lap Times

The 2013 Hangtown National and the opening round of the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, is officially in the books. In the 450 class, it was Monster Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto winning both motos and, with his 1-1, carrying the momentum and a six point lead to Colorado .

Todd Waters looks back on Broadford

Australian Motocross Championship leader Todd Waters says the second race at Broadford’s Monster Energy MX Nationals round was the toughest of his entire career. Waters was only approved by the Suzuki RACESAFE Medical Team on Sunday morning, however the severity of his head injury sustained one week prior took its toll during the second 30-minute moto of the weekend.

AMA Nationals - Race Highlights
