L+M Events gain official ACU recognition

Press release Saturday 04th January 2008 By PRL+M

L+M Events is proud to announce its recent appointment as a recognised ACU Promoter, which will assist in its ongoing pursuit to bring international status off road events to the UK. L+M Events joins a select group of promoters whose applications have been accepted by the ACU Board of Directors in more recent times. Co founders Martin Lampkin and Jake Miller, hence the L+M title, were responsible for bringing the FIM...

This fact sets them alone, with no other off road promoter having achieved a similar feat in running a series of World outdoor events during the last decade.

With no World trial planned for 2008, L+M Events are currently busy exploring several possibilities that may result in them delivering a variety of events both at international and domestic level over the next few years.

Whilst the return of the FIM Trial World Championship to the UK mainland once again remains on the agenda (subject to finding a suitable new venue), L+M Events are also looking to diversify into other off road sectors to add to their already proven portfolio.

The addition of full ACU recognition will be a major benefit, as Lampkin and Miller continue with their negotiations to receive support from authorities that sit outside of the motorcycling sector.

Gary Thompson, ACU General Secretary confirmed that they are pleased to accept L + M Events as a Promoter affiliated to the ACU.

"Without doubt, the World Trials Championship held at Hawkstone Park last July was another outstanding success and was testament to the organisational ability of both Martin Lampkin and Jake Miller. We welcome L + M Events to the ACU and look forward to working with them in the future."

Commenting on their recent appointment Miller stated.

"Whilst we have nothing planned for this year just yet, there is a lot of activity taking place behind closed doors, that no one is aware of at the moment. We are currently working on five possible projects that will take us through to 2011. Being recognised by the ACU is a major boost to our plans, and will certainly add weight to some to our proposals where we have to rely on alignment and association with our main sporting body."

"We are excited by the potential of the projects that are currently on the table and are confident that they will give us the opportunity to continue to build on the successes that L+M Events has achieved to date."Concluded Miller.
