Monster Energy and CAS Honda join forces

Press release Monday 02nd March 2008 By Jenni Dick

CAS Honda is pleased to announce that it will be partnering the meanest Energy drink on the planet, Monster Energy, for its assault on the British and World Motocross Championships in 2008. As one of the leading energy drink brands in the United States, Monster Energy has an undoubted passion for racing, with involvement in many motorsport activities Worldwide.

The two-year deal with CAS Honda is part of Monster Energy's many associations with high-adrenalin sports as they look to expand into the European market.

This also coincides with the all-new for '08 CAS Honda website which is due to be launched this week, while the riders can be sighted for the first time aboard their newly liveried machines with the team today at Hawkstone Park International race.

The official Honda team are excited about this season as it will field the ultra-experienced current British MX2 Champion Mike Brown, who will once again compete aboard his CRF450R in the World Championship, and the CRF250R in the British Championship.

Brown will be partnered by reigning British MX1 Champion, Billy Mackenzie, who will compete in both MX1 Championships. CAS Honda is sure that the collaboration with Monster Energy will be a successful one as it moves forward with the ultimate goal of World Championship glory.

This follows the team's many achievements in the UK with no less than 13 title wins over ten years along with a number of Grand Prix victories.

CAS Honda Team Manager – Neil Prince

"We are excited about the partnership with Monster Energy as it proves we are seen as a serious contender in British and World Championship Motocross. The company itself shares a true passion for racing and this is important to us as we work towards our goal of winning a World title. It's the first time CAS Honda has been associated with a non-industry sponsor of this sort and we are pleased to have them on board as they share a similar vision to the team. This follows the company’s large involvement in motorsport across America and we are pleased to play a part in Monster Energy's growth as they look to expand into the European market."

Sports Marketing Director for Monster Energy - John Lee

“In our efforts to expand the Monster Energy brand throughout the world, the opportunity arose to align ourselves with the CAS Honda program – a highly successful race team that for 2008 will feature two very accomplished racers in Mike Brown and Billy Mackenzie. So Monster Energy is pleased to announce, in cooperation with CAS Honda, our association with the team for the 2008 British Championships beginning this weekend at Hawkstone, as well as the 2008 GP World Championships. We wish Mike and Billy the best of luck and look forward to the reports on their efforts from the CAS Honda team.”
