Ramon wins in Belgium

Suzuki factory rider and World MX1 champion Steve Ramon opened the defence of his Belgian championship with a stunning 1-1-2 victory at the opening round of the series. Ramon can now head to Valkenswaard, Holland for the opening round of the World MX1 championship with high hopes of picking up his first ever MX1 GP victory.

Second overall was Ramon's Suzuki factory team-mate Ken De Dycker with Kawasaki factory rider Kevin Strijbos third. Manuel Priem another Kawasaki rider finished fourth, with the third of the Kawasaki riders Tanel Leok fifth. David Philippaerts of the Rinaldi Yamaha team finished in seventh place after scoring 8-6-7 placings.
