Grand Prix statistics - MX1 and MX2
Press release Tuesday 24th June 2008 By Daniele Rizzi
Yamaha Monster Motocross’ Joshua Coppins was a solid second on the podium after he led his first 13 laps this season; AXO KTM Silver Action Jonathan Barragan completed the podium in third, keeping up the good work after his maiden win in Mallory.
Even though he experienced one of the toughest weekends in 2008, Yamaha Monster Motocross’s David Philippaerts kept the red plate but he stopped a five podium row from Bellpuig to Mallory Park.

Entering St. Jean to make up for the sixth place overall of 2007, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tommy Searle did improve on that result and collected his maiden red plate after taking the second GP win of 2008.
Searle rounded off a perfect weekend that came after his 19th birthday of the Friday by taking also his fourth Lovemytime Qualifying Award. The other winner of the Lovemytime Qualifying Award, Yamaha Red Bull De Carli’s Antonio Cairoli, still sits on top of the Lovemytime standings but lost the podium and the red plate due to a dnf in heat one.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tyla Rattray took his sixth podium of the season as he finished second overall in France; KTM fellow rider Anthony Boissiere, riding for HDI MX Team, completed the rostrum which was also the first top three finish overall for tyre manufacturer Goldentyre.
KTM UK’s Shaun Simpson and Searle challenged each other again at St. Jean, with Simpson leading for four laps while the remaining 37 went to the new Championship leader.
