Grand Prix statistics - After Sweden
Press release Tuesday 15th July 2008 By Daniele Rizzi
Barragan and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Max Nagl won one heat each as Lovemytime Pole Position Award winner Steve Ramon of Teka Suzuki WMX1 took second on the podium, marking his comeback to the rostrum after his maiden win in wet Bellpuig.
The defending Champion has taken two poles, as many as team mate Ken de Dycker, but Lovemytime standings leader Pourcel remains far ahead with four Lovemytime Awards. Though the latter has not been the quickest in qualifying since Mallory Park.
Yamaha Monster Motocross’ David Philippaerts completed the Swedish rostrum to defend the red plate which he holds since Portugal. CAS Honda’s Steve Boniface, who announced he closed a deal with the team to race the remaining part of the 2008 season in Sweden, celebrated by leading 13 laps in the heats.

Yamaha Red Bull De Carli’s Antonio Cairoli came back to victory in Sweden by taking his fourth hard fought GP win of 2008. Cairoli is the one who has won the most GP, heats (7) and Lovemytime Awards (7) so far.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tyla Rattray won one moto in Sweden but took second on the podium as the result was enough for the South African to carry the red plate home to Nelspruit this weekend.
Following his maiden podium in Bulgaria, KTM UK’s Shaun Simpson took another third place overall in similar slippery track conditions as those he found in Sevlievo. Other than Rattray and Cairoli, also upcoming talent Simpson led some good laps in Uddevalla.
On the other hand KTM fellow rider Tommy Searle just grabbed a Lovemytime Award on Saturday as his only reward for a tough weekend. MX2- GP OF SWEDEN RESULTS Antonio Cairoli Tyla Rattray Shaun Simpson Tommy Searle Steven Frossard
