Press release Tuesday 17th February 2009 By Pascal Haudiquert

Two weeks after Mantova, the International Motocross of Valence (France) will be the second main pre season MX, and most of the team will enter the event. Winner in Mantova Kevin Strijbos will be part of the favorites, as well as Montevarchi’s winner David Philippaerts or reigning winner in Valence Josh Coppins.

Except Yamaha De Carli and Honda Cas, all the top teams will be in France next week-end as the club has now build a major event. The rain often disrupted the event in the past, but last year was great with the sunshine all over the weekend.

The official teams Suzuki (Teka Geboers, Teka Inotec and Bodo Schmit), KTM (Factory, Silver Action, Martens and HDI), Honda (Martin, NGS, LS Motors and JK Multitek), Yamaha (Monster Rinaldi and Ricci Racing), Kawasaki (KRT Factory, CLS and Bud Racing) and Aprilia (Factory and JK Racing) will enter the event who will have a new schedule with two separate classes: MX1 (450) and MX2 (250).

Both classes will run two moto’s of 20 minutes and two laps, and at the end of the day a final race with the fifteen best riders of each category will decide the official winner.

Surprising winner in Mantova, coming back after a difficult season Kevin Strijbos will be one of the favorites but needs to confirm on a hard soil his Italian win.

Reigning World Champion David Philippaerts won last weekend in Montevarchi and will be for sure one strong rival for Joshua Coppins twice winner in Valence (07 and 08).

Steve Ramon and Ken De Dycker (Suzuki), Max Nagl, Sven Breugelmans and Gert Krestinov (KTM), Marc De Reuver, Clément Desalle and Cédric Melotte (Honda), will be with the factory Aprilia’s of Julien Bill and Manuel Priem their main rivals.

David Vuillemin (Kawasaki Bud) will race his first MX in Europe since a while, alongisde Gregory Aranda (Kawasaki CLS) Loic Leonce (Aprilia), Julien Vanni (Honda) and Pierre Alexandre Renet (Suzuki).

In the MX2 class Livia Lancelot (Kawasaki) will raced against some of the MX2 World Championship favorites : Nicolas Aubin and Davide Guarneri (Yamaha), Shaun Simpson (winner in Mantova), Rui Gonçalves, Jeremy Van Horebeek and Joel Roelants (KTM), Steven Frossard and Gautier Paulin (Kawasaki), Xavier Boog (Suzuki), Anthony Boissière (KTM) Marvin Musquin and Pascal Leuret (Honda).

Younger kids coming from the Euro series will also enter the event, with Valentin Teillet (KTM), Jeffrey Herlings (Suzuki), Loic Rombaut (Kawasaki) Loic Larrieu (Yamaha), Jason Clermont (Honda) and Arnaud Tonus (KTM).

With a 85cc support race, there will be a total of seven heats on Sunday afternoon, with six training sessions in the morning. The first practice sessions will take place on Saturday afternoon, and of course the paddock will have a free and permanent access for the spectators.

Even if the program is better than in 08 with two separate classes and more races, the club keeps the same rate for the tickets: 15€ from 10 to 14 years, and 25€ over 14 years old.

You can find more details and information’s, including hotels and accommodation on the web site of the club (www.mx-valence.com).
