FIM Veterans Motocross World Cup - Puzar Back
Press release Thursday 26th February 2009 By Daniele Rizzi
After winning two World Titles (in 125cc and in 250cc) and 23 GP’s Puzar will be back to action in Faenza, which will open the Veterans’ World Cup season on March 29 during the Grand Prix of Italy weekend.
Puzar, who has been attending the GP’s as a Pro-Grip representative in the last few years, looks forward to this new challenge.
His close friend and team JK Datch manager Riccardo Boschi is fully behind this project as he will provide the rider with Honda 250cc machinery featuring the potent Multitek engine – the bike will be the same as the one used by MX2 GP rider Pascal Leuret.
The move to Honda will be a sort of homecoming for Puzar who won his last World Title in 1995 onboard the Japanese manufacturer’s 125cc machine.
Puzar, who was born in 1968 and started racing in 1986, will join Boschi in his base in Tuscany very soon to start a specific training program and get used to the new bike. After a few days of testing the two time World Champion is due to come back to his home in Monte Carlo.
In Faenza the home rider is expected to wear special Pro Grip gear and to be out front from heat one as he is to face other Champions such as Darryll King.
