Kawasaki MX Teams - Online introduction

Press release Monday 16th March 2009 By Kawasaki

The countdown to the 2009 FIM Motocross Championship now involves a matter of days instead of weeks. Kawasaki Motors Europe will again field a comprehensive line-up of riders, technology and first-rate teams to tackle both the MX1 and MX2 classes and the presentation of this effort will take place exclusively online on Wednesday March 27th at 16.00 CET.

Preparations for the upcoming fifteen round series that will visit fourteen countries, two continents and span a six month period have been well underway for several weeks now.

Kawasaki’s three principle teams – Kawasaki Racing Team, Team CLS and Bud Racing – have all been testing and sharpening their reactions at a host of international meetings and national races.

The on-track action has sat alongside activity away from the circuit, with photo-shoots and media interest also setting the tone and excitement factor for the coming campaign.

As with many companies using any form of motorsport for promotion and development, Kawasaki was forced to reassess their racing activities for the 2009 season and beyond, but the company is happy to be able to continue their forceful commitment to the Motocross world championship with three capable teams and serious title contenders in each class.

KRT launches into 2009 and their MX1 ambitions with new owners, a fresh rider roster and a brand new race set-up; Sébastien Pourcel and Gareth Swanepoel will be expecting to justify the potential and belief in the evolved fuel-injected KX450F, while Women’s World Champion Livia Lancelot will be hoping for a successful title defence.

Kawasaki Motors Europe has also upgraded their support for Bud Racing and Team CLS to help the French teams achieve their goals in the MX1 and MX2 categories. With many eyes focussing on Faenza in Italy for the opening Grand Prix on March 29th Kawasaki is pleased to be able to satisfy their huge army of fans as well as the press by opting to present their official Motocross effort online.

The Kawasaki 2009 MXGP Team Presentation will occur on Wednesday 25th at 16.00 CET. This informative and eye-catching unveiling of the riders and bikes, complete with interview clips and action footage of all eight of the protagonists across the three teams can be found at: www.kawasaki-racingteam.eu/motocross and www.freecaster.tv

Official world championship media will be able to pick up the 2009 Kawasaki MXGP Press Kit from any of the team awnings on Friday 27th March at Faenza. Between the hours of 15.30 and 16.30 team staff and riders should be available at this time for interviews or photo opportunities.

With a feast of racing thrills lying ahead for the next half-a-year do not forget to sign up for Pitstop Updates from www.kawasaki-racingteam.eu/motocross where race reports, race photography, profile information and behind-the-scene stories about Kawasaki’s motocross strong-arm can be found.
