New 150cc 4 stroke European Series to start in 2010

The Youthstream policy for the development of Motocross, which considers the young riders as the base of the sport, will expand through a new European series dedicated to 150cc 4 stroke machines and starting off in 2010. Following the meeting with the manufacturers Youthstream confirms the intention to organize this 150cc 4 stroke European series.

Which means a further chance of starting a Motocross career for many youngsters and opens the doors to more manufacturers.

This six event 150cc 4 stroke European Championship will be held together with the MX3 World Championship and EMX2 European Championship.

Nagl and Roczen to touch base this weekend at German GP

The FIM Motocross World Championship continues after a week break and round nine of 15 will be at Teutschenthal, Germany, this weekend. Home rider Max Nagl is confident as he enters Teutschenthal after a dominant win at Ernee, where he took both heats and managed to place himself into third in the MX1 Championship.

Swanepoel talks about victory - British Championship

Kawasaki factory rider Gareth Swanepoel dominated the latest round of the British MX1 Championship, going 1-1 in front of series leader Anderson and defending champion Billy Mackenzie. In Moto one Swanepoel just missed the hole-shot and was second behind Tom Church, however he passed Church on the 2nd corner.

Mackenzie picks up podium at Hawkstone Park

CAS Honda’s Billy Mackenzie concluded today’s British Championship races at Hawkstone Park on the podium, while teammate Bryan Mackenzie put in two solid performances with 8th and sixth place finishes. Billy opened the day well at the Shropshire circuit, and concluded the timed session this morning as the fastest man on track in pole position aboard his CRF450R.

De Dycker wins in Kester - Belgium Championship

Ken De Dycker (Teka-Suzuki) took his second overall victory in the 2009 Belgian Motocross championship today. In changing weather conditions and in front of 5.000 spectators De Dycker scored two heat wins, and a second behind Clément Desalle (LS Motors-Honda) . Josh Coppins (Monster Energy-Yamaha) was third on the podium.

Grand Prix of France - More rider comments

Desalle and Musquin win on Saturday in France

A big French crowd already showed up to watch the opening day of the French GP starting with home rider Marvin Musquin’s win in the MX2 qualifying. The result was followed by Belgian Desalle’s maiden qualifying win in the MX1 class with Nagl and Philippaerts rounding up the top three. Cairoli ended seventh ahead of home hero Pichon.

"Rally Dakar" - KTM withdraws!

The limiting of motorcycles with a displacement of 450 cc forces the long term dominator of the Dakar Rally to withdraw. Following the announcement at a press conference on June 4, 2009 of the French "ASO" - the organisers of the "South American Dakar" that from 2010, only motorcycles with a maximum displacement of 450 cc will be permitted to compete.
