The organizing committee for the final round of the 2009 FIM Motocross World Championship to be held in Canelinha, Brazil, on September 13, announced their excitement for the event as the date gets closer and closer. The organizing committee of the Honda GP of Brazil looks forward to welcoming the FIM Motocross World Championship at Canelinha, Santa Catarina, on September 13.

The series will make its comeback to one of the main South American countries after its latest appearance in 1999 at Indaiatuba for the prestigious Red Bull Motocross of Nations.

Speaking in behalf of the organizing committee, Brazilian Motorcycling Federation President Mr. Alexandre Caravana stated.

“I am very proud regarding the return of the FIM World Motocross Championship to Brazil. This year it will be held in Canelinha which is a beautiful city in the South of our country, it is actually very close to Florianopolis, one of the best sea resorts in the continent. I would like to thank Mr. Antonio Flores representing the Canelinha Government and Mr. Onilio Cidade, the President of the St. Catarina Federation, and of course Youthstream and the FIM for their continuous support and we would like to tell you that we will do our best efforts to make this event the best event to you. We look forward to welcoming you there.”

Dr. Wolfgang Srb, the FIM/CMS President, ended.

“It has been some time that the FIM Motocross World Championship has not been in Brazil and we are very happy to come back there in 2009. There is a good involvement from the organizing committee as they confirmed by being here visiting the series. We all look forward to being there in September.”
