German young gun Roczen, who entered the MX2 series only at Agueda, looked already capable of winning a moto as the crowd looks forward to a possible home success of the 15 year old.

Though Musquin has an even stronger lead in the Championship after the home win at Ernee.

Opening up his winning account at Ernee, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Max Nagl improved his position in the Championship standings dramatically as he moved from seventh to third. Nagl, who will meet a lot of his fans at a special Fan Camp based in the venue of Teutschenthal, is only 43 points away from red plate holder Cairoli and 13 from runner up Philippaerts.

The latter has been finishing on the podium three times in the last three GP’s and he started to close in on Cairoli.

The Yamaha Monster Energy Motocross man, who took his maiden MX1 GP here at the Talkessel in 2007, was fourth in Germany last year while his team mate Coppins won the overall.

The Kiwi does need a strong result to open up a safe gap from Desalle as the duo now rounds off the top five with just one point in between them.

Yamaha Red Bull De Carli’s Cairoli leads the Championship since Turkey and consistently mounted on the podium since then, missing only Great Britain due to a heavy crash in the qualifying race.

The week break which followed Ernee should have handed the Italian his confidence and fitness back in time for the German GP, where the two time World Champion was second in last year’s MX2 podium finishing level in points with overall winner and eventual MX2 World Champion Rattray.

A broken footpeg in Ernee’s final moto took Teka Suzuki World MX1’s De Dycker off the podium with the Belgian dropping down to sixth in the series. Looking back at Teutschenthal 2008 De Dycker was second on the podium ahead of Tanel Leok, who is now seventh in the Championship.

Teutschenthal will be the last chance to see multiple World Champion Pichon onboard the Martin Honda machine, which he used from the British GP to replace Strijbos – the latter is due to comeback for his home GP at Lommel in August.

Mounting on the factory KTM at Mallory Park to win two moto’s straight away, Marvin Musquin took other two at home in France and built again on his Championship lead.

Runner up Gautier Paulin of Kawasaki Bud Racing PSM has a 34 point gap to close if he wants to take back the red plate which he lost in Catalunya for the first time since Faenza’s season opener.

At their debut season in 2008, Musquin was eighth overall at Teutschenthal while Paulin missed the event and the remainder of the season due to a broken collarbone first and then to a broken left tibia.

Third in the Championship Guarneri picked up just two points last year in Germany which is something he desperately needs to avoid if he wants to remain longer inside the top three.

The Yamaha Monster Energy Ricci Motocross racer is pressured by a hungry Goncalves behind in fourth with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Portuguese being just 13 points adrift.

Someone who is likely to make his move in Teutschenthal is CLS’ Frenchman Frossard, who collected his maiden career podium last year on the German race track with third overall. Frossard currently rounds off the top five whose riders are spread in just 79 points.

Sitting down in tenth is an impressive Ken Roczen, who entered the Championship only at Portugal (11 days after he reached the age of 15) but has already made up a significant amount of points.

The youngster of the Germany based Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2 team will be pumped for his home event where he will try to win his first career moto after he missed out on that goal twice already to finish second (moto two of the Catalan GP and moto two of the French GP).
