Baptiste Rheims secured the Title in the S3 class, after another hard fought round which was won by Chris Hodgson. Lionel Deridder clinched his maiden success in the Open class, securing his runner up spot behind Petr Vorlicek, who had wrapped up the crown in Pleven.

The S1 podium S1 Aprilia Off Road’s Thierry Van Den Bosch squeezed himself and the SXV 450 to end this season as the last GP winner of 2007, but he stayed second in the Championship.

Bernd Hiemer of KTM Italia Miglio was second overall, at his second consecutive podium appearance which confirmed his good shape in this final part of the season. Ivan Lazzarini of Yamaha Evolution rounded off the podium at his maiden top three finish in the category, while Thomas and newly crowned World Champion Adrien Chareyre completed the top five. Thierry VDB rode two perfect heats and won the GP

RACE 1 Bernd Hiemer took the holeshot and tried to open up a gap, but Thierry Van Den Bosch was quick to find an open door and pass, leading for the rest of the race and clinching the eventual win.

The German settled down in second after he tried to keep up with VDB, while Ivan Lazzarini made it to third when Thomas Chareyre handed him the spot, dropping down to an eventual seventh.

But his brother Adrien was advantaged by Thomas’ manoeuvre and clinched vital points for the Title. Adrien ended fifth, behind Kevin Berthome, while his team mate Sylvain Bidart battled it out with Eddy Seel for a final sixth place, with the Belgian ending eighth. Adrien Chareyre eventually clinched his first career Title S1

RACE 2 Lazzarini had a storming start but went wide and was passed by VDB, who held the lead for the first five laps before being overtaken by Thomas Chareyre. The latter opened up a small gap, but VDB was just cruising and finally put himself back together to regain the lead and win the final heat. Thomas settled down for a solid second place, while Hiemer completed the top three, surrendering to the speed of the leading duo.

Ivan Lazzarini was a solid fourth, and gained access to the podium when VDB eventually passed Chareyre. Adrien Chareyre cruised in fifth place, which was enough to secure the crown. S2 Nestor Jorge of BQR Aprilia Spain clinched an unexpected win after an eventful first moto, where he crashed because of a wrong tyre choice.

Jorge entered the record book as the first Spaniard winning a SuperMoto Grand Prix; for this maiden success, he beat KTM Italia Miglio’s Attilio Pignotti and new S2 World Champion Gerald Delepine of CH Azzalin, who rounded off the podium, while British countrymen Christian Iddon and Matthew Winstanley finished respectively fourth and fifth. Poleman Marcel Goetz ended sixth overall.

Davide Gozzini, who entered Greece with a Title hope, ended with a disappointing 23rd place. Gerald Delepine already wore the World Champion’s T-shirt on the podium The whole Husaberg WP Factory IPA Team, made of Maxime Testu, Andrea Occhini, Simone Girolami and Robert Baraccani, sat out of the final heat due to the sudden death of Team Manager Marco Tognoli’s father in Italy.

All Youthstream, headed by President Giuseppe Luongo and Vice-President Luigi Zompetti, offers the Tognoli family their most sincere condolences for this important loss.

S2 GRAND PRIX RACE 1 Gerald Delepine was the eventual winner of heat one, changing his plans of a safe race as soon as he realized he had the speed to win. Marcel Goetz took the holeshot but Attilio Pignotti moved up to first in lap two, leading until he had a technical problem and dropped down to fifth. The gutsy Italian came back up to third, starting a savage battle with Christian Iddon, with the duo being on Delepine’s tail, ready to battle it out for the win.

Pignotti attacked and moved past Iddon at the final lap, but the Brit answered with another overtaking manoeuvre, passing and pushing Pignotti, who let also Goetz pass. Iddon secured the second place, followed by Goetz and Pignotti, while Nestor Jorge rounded off the top five.

The Spaniard decided to start on slick tyres; he suddenly lost the front and crashed, but picked the bike back up and worked his way up to fifth, clocking also the fastest lap in the race. Gozzini stalled the bike twice, ending 17th, while team mate Fabio Balducci dnf’d because of a technical problem. Attilio Pignotti tried his best to stop Delepine but eventually finished second both in the GP and in the Championship

S2 GRAND PRIX RACE 2 Goetz did the holeshot again, leading the first half of the heat before handing the first place to Matthew Winstanley, who had moved past Iddon exploiting his countryman’s mistake. Winstanley lead the pack for three laps only, before a ferocious Jorge moved past to secure the heat win and also the overall. Pignotti finished second thanks to a last lap manoeuvre on Winstanley, and brought the gap from Delepine back to five points, as many as after the latest GP at Busca.

The Wigan Whippet ended third ahead of a surprising Fabio Balducci, at his maiden appearance with the S2 TM machine, while Christian Iddon rounded off the top five. Delepine was sixth, having based his race on Pignotti, while early leader Goetz ended ninth. Gozzini finished 22nd, having encountered technical problems.

Nestor Jorge leading IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS STANDINGS Adrien Chareyre made his dream come true by clinching his maiden SuperMoto Title, snatching the number one from countryman and SuperMoto winningest Superider Thierry Van Den Bosch.

The latter was chasing his fourth Title, but ended second ahead of Thomas Chareyre. Bernd Hiemer made up for a difficult start to the season by securing the fourth spot, ahead of Kevin Berthome and Sylvain Bidart, both moving in front of injured Jerome Giraudo. Gerald Delepine is now World Champion for the second time in his career, and both Titles were clinched on Husqvarna S2 machines.

Attilio Pignotti finished runner up, and finally unveiled a mid of the season right shoulder injury, which he never announced before. The Italian will undergo surgery this coming week. Christian Iddon moved up to third, while Davide Gozzini ended his season with fourth.

Nestor Jorge rounded off the top five. Delepine being give the Champ’s plate by Youthstream’s Vice President Luigi Zompetti Husqvarna and Aprilia shared the Manufacturers’ Titles; Husqvarna won in S1 but finished runner up to Aprilia in S2. The latter won the S2 class but was second in S1.

UEM-EUROPEAN SUPERMOTO CHAMPIONSHIP Baptiste Rheims put an end to the fight for the European S3 Title at this final round, keeping Tommaso Iacoboni behind in second with a gap of 14 points. Chris Hodgson was the eventual winner of the event, dominating both heats after his maiden win at Busca. Riccardo Peroni was second overall after two strong moto’s, while Olivier Scheen rounded off the podium.

Newly crowned European Champion Rheims was sixth overall, while Iacoboni was fourth. In the points standings, Peroni was third behind Iacoboni, with Chris Hodgson and Olivier Scheen rounding off the top five. With 2007 Open class Champion Petr Vorlicek out of this final event, runner up Lionel Deridder secured his position by winning his maiden round.

Alberto Dall’Era, who was chasing Deridder for second in the Championship, was second on the podium after he won the final heat, with Heino Meusburger rounding off the podium. Latest two rounds winner Alessandro Tognaccini, who was starting from the bottom of the grid after a disastrous qualifying yesterday, was fourth overall ahead of Richard Blakeman. Luca De Angelis, sixth overall today, secured the third place in the Championship, with Tognaccini and Dall’Era rounding off the top five. Lionel Deridder on top of the Open class podium
