Ben Townley wins NZ Supercross Opener

Bay of Plenty rider Ben Townley again showed his international class as he dominated round one of the New Zealand Supercross Championships near Timaru last night. The Kawasaki ace has been on the comeback from a shoulder injury suffered in September 2007 and Wednesday's event was only his second major outing.

Townley back with victory

The 25-year-old former motocross world champion is fast heading towards full fitness again after an enforced layoff due to injury and he can now probably claim he’s a lot closer to 100% again after winning the main class at Monday’s big event near the coastal Bay of Plenty town.
