While it isn't like days of the past with a huge field of riders for the opening International of the season, the field for the Italian International, set for this weekend at the Alghero motocross circuit in Sardinia has some big names and a lot of question marks.

So far, 26 riders on the start list for MXGP and 42 for MX2, it isn’t a massive rider line-up, but it should be good enough for some entertainment as we arrive into the 2022 season in Europe.

Four time World motocross champion Tim Gajser leads the riders with two time World champion Jorge Prado looking to make another step in his young career. World MX2 champion Maxime Renaux makes the exciting step to the 450 class and I think we are all excited to see how he does. 

Also on the line are GP winners Jeremy Seewer, Glenn Coldenhoff, Ben Watson and Jeremy Van Horebeek. Young Aussie Jed Beaton also makes his 450 debut and his fellow Australian Mitch Evans returns after a long injury.
