Eric Eggens interview - Yamaha Future

Posted on July 11, 2018

Eric Eggens has been around the sport for many years, as a racer he finished second in the World in the 125cc class, won GP's and helped The Netherlands onto an MXoN podium. Now as Yamaha sports manager, he overlooks the MXGP and MX2 teams, and his role is an important one for the developement of the blue team.

We caught up with him and asked about the future of the MXGP and MX2 factory teams, and it seems for sure that the future is with riders like Romain Febvre, Jago Geerts and Ben Watson, the final two seemingly also future Yamaha factory riders in MXGP. It seems Yamaha will not be searching for new riders, but instead investing in their current crop of youngsters.

Eggens as are most Dutchmen very honest and up front, and we thank him for his time and experience in this interview.
