Adamo Wins Moto One
Andrea Adamo, the 2023 World MX2 champion has won the opening MX2 moto in Germany this afternoon and closed the gap ever so slightly on Germany rider, Simon Langenfelder. Langenfelder worked very hard to get his third-place finish and still holds a five point lead over Adamo in the championship. Second was Sasha Coenen and a KTM domination once again in MX2.
Championship points are now Simon Längenfelder 451 points, Andrea Adamo 446pts, Kay de Wolf 413pts, Liam Everts 363pts, Sacha Coenen 336pts.
Andrea Adamo: I was feeling good. I made the pass on Sasha and he was pushing a lot, then I tried to control the race, safe and easy and super happy to win the moto. Now lets go for the second one.
MX2 Moto One
Coenen led the opening MX2 moto from Adamo, Lata, Langenfelder, Farres, Benistant, Everts, Braceras, McLellan, de Wolf in 10th. Langenfelder quickly dropped to seventh place and Everts was up to fourth place. De Wolf dropped to 11th spot.
Lap one it was Coenen, Adamo, Lata, Everts, Farres, Benistant, Langenfelder, McLellan, Oliver and de Wolf. Chaos as always on the opening laps and de Wolf back in 10th and Langenfelder up to sixth spot. Langenfelder then into fifth position.
Lap three and the lead by Coenen was 1.7 seconds over Adamo, with Lata 3.8 seconds further back, then Farres, Langenfelder, Benistant, Everts, Oliver, McLellan, and De Wolf still 10th. Benistant moved into fifth with a pass on Langenfelder.
Lap seven the lead by Coenen was a few bike lengths, with Adamo second, then Lata six seconds back in third, followed by Farres, Benistant, Langenfelder, Everts, Oliver and McLellan, with De Wolf dropping back to 11th.
Adamo continued to hound Coenen for the lead and a mistake from Coenen allowed Adamo nearly a passing move and Adamo looking very aggressive, but both riding well. Adamo into the lead and the top ten on lap eight was Adamo, Coenen, Lata, Farres, Benistant, Langenfelder, Everts, McLellan, de Wolf and Oliver in 10th.
Langenfelder putting a lot of pressure on Benistant and Farres not far ahead of those two. De Wolf closing up on McLellan. Langenfelder did eventually get past Benistant for fifth place and going after Farres in fourth. Oliver moved past both de Wolf and McLellan to move into 8th place.
Lap 13 and it was Adamo, Coenen, Lata, Farres, Langenfelder, Benistant, Everts, McLellan, de Wolf and Oliver. Langenfelder really pushing hard to get into fourth place as Adamo looks like he will get maximum points in this race.
Langenfelder passed Farres and the Spaniard repassed the Germany and Benistant also close to the action. In the end, Langenfelder got into fourth and stayed there. Lap 15 it was Adamo with a 1.5 second lead over Coenen, then Lata 7.5 back, then Langenfelder, Farres, Benistant, Everts, McLellan, De Wolf and Oliver 10th.
Top ten on the last lap was Adamo, Coenen, Langenfelder, Lata, Benistant, Everts, De Wolf, McLellan, Farres and Oliver. Adamo wins from Coenen and Langenfelder.
