  • Race Report

Red Bull KTM factory rider, Andrea Adamo picked up his second straight GP victory, adding the MXGP of Portugal to his victory in Switzerland a couple of weeks ago. The Italian also managed to close up on Kay de Wolf in the series points.

With his win in the French GP a month or so ago, Adamo is clearly the man with the consistency and the momentum. Second overall was Kay de Wolf on 40pts and third Simon Längenfelder also on 40 points.

Andrea Adamo: It means a lot. It is crazy, in these conditions, its unbelievable. Super, super happy and hope to keep the momentum. To keep this momentum, is going to be difficult, but I try my best. I rode well, really well. Yesterday I put myself in a good condition for today. To go 1-1-1, it is the first time I have done this, so I am really happy.

Championship points are now Kay de Wolf 328 points, Simon Längenfelder 324pts, Andrea Adamo 318pts, Liam Everts 269pts, Thibault Benistant 225pts.

MX2 Moto Two

Again, rain began as the second MX2 moto start and pretty soon it was Coenen leading early from Adamo, Farres, de Wolf, Valin, Zanchi, Valk, Reisulis, Langenfelder, and Benistant 10th. Everts 22nd. Langenfelder crashed and dropped well back.

Lap six and it was still Coenen in front with a 2.9 second lead over Adamo, with de Wolf 14 seconds off the leader’s pace, then Farres, Valin, Zanchi, Valk, Langenfelder, Reisulis, and Benistant 10th. Adamo into the lead on lap seven and looking good to close the gap even further to de Wolf.

Langenfelder moved past Valk and into sixth position and the points between himself, De Wolf and Adamo in the championship now very close. On lap 10 it was Adamo, Coenen, de Wolf, Farres, Valin, Langenfelder, Valk, Zanchi, Benistant and Reisulis 10th.

De Wolf a mistake but maintained his third place on the track. Adamo was 3.8 ahead of Coenen and 28.6 ahead of de Wolf. Langenfelder into fourth place and he too keeping close to the red plate as we head to Lugo in Spain next week. Adamo wins the moto and the GP.
