British star Max Anstie, the 2025 FIM World Supercross SX2 Champion, has been confirmed for the opening round of the 2026 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship presented by Monster Energy, lining up with MXRP Yamaha at Queensland Country Bank Stadium this Saturday, 3 October.

Anstie is a two-time World Supercross SX2 Champion (2023, 2025) and already knows what it takes to win in Australia, having also claimed back-to-back Australian SX2 Championships in 2022 and 2023.

Now he's back, chasing more Australian silverware in front of a North Queensland crowd as the 2026 Championship gets underway in Townsville.

The British star brings an extensive international racing résumé to the grid. Alongside his World and Australian titles, Anstie is a multiple AMA 250SX Main Event winner and famously won both of his races for Great Britain at the 2017 Motocross des Nations.

For MXRP, the deal is about more than one round. The team will work alongside Anstie throughout the opening round, drawing on his experience at the highest levels of the sport to develop its own program.

His addition puts a world champion on the start gate in Townsville, further strengthening an already stacked international and Australian field just days out from the opening round.

TOWNSVILLE SEASON OPENER: THIS SATURDAY

Up to 20,000 fans are expected at Queensland Country Bank Stadium as North Queensland hosts the Season Opener. The night brings world-class Supercross, Freestyle Motocross, Fan Fest, rider signings and live entertainment.

The weekend starts on Friday 2 October with the FREE AUSX Street Party on Palmer Street. It will have rider appearances, signings, the Holeshot Challenge and entertainment.
