The Westfalenhalle is the memory of the German Supercross. Anyone who scores points here will be inscribed in a chronicle that has led the elite of the sport for over four decades. This year, this 'eternal list of the best' is facing a historic turning point: Florent Richer's long-standing monument is shaking as two giants of the current era make their final leap to the throne.

A look back illustrates the different decades that have shaped the Dortmund Supercross. In the 90s, it was above all the American "Mad Mike" Jones who thrilled the masses with his spectacular style. With a total of 296 points and the title 'King of Dortmund# in 1994, he set standards for US dominance at the time. On the threshold of the new millennium, the era of consistency followed, personified by the Briton Warren Edwards. Although he was denied the big title of 'King', he collected 298 points over the years through impressive consistency and thus still ranks in a strong fourth place in the all-time table.

In the decade that followed, Florent Richier shaped events like no other. With king's titles in 2011 and 2013 as well as a total of four major successes in the statistics, he screwed his points account to the previous record of 405 points. For a long time, this value seemed unassailable, but the current generation has stepped up the pace and is now on the verge of the changing of the guard.

Cédric Soubeyras, the 'King of Dortmund' of 2024, has worked his way up to a single point on Richier. With currently 404 points, he only needs one point on the first evening to draw level with the leader. Every additional point makes him the most successful driver this hall has ever seen. The fact that Soubeyras is heading for this milestone with the experience of three major victories underlines his exceptional position.

This record hunt is flanked by the reigning 'King of Dortmund': Greg Aranda. After his triumph in 2025 and his first title in 2014, he is currently still in third place in the points standings with 370 points, but leads in another decisive category: With a total of five individual victories, he has the highest success rate of the top group.
