  • Race Report

Frenchman Adrien Escoffier is the first ever Arenacross World Tour champion after a dramatic night of racing inside the Etihad Arena, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

With an eight-point lead coming into the finals Dean Wilson was in the in the driving seat and all was looking good for the Scot to take the title. After a big crash in the final that took out Tommy Searle and the second placed rider in the championship, Cedric Soubeyras, it looked the cards were stacking up in Wilson's favour after working his way into second in the restarted final behind American Michael Hicks, but a crash towards the end of the race was a costly one.

With Wilson down and out Adrien was in the driving seat and he took full advantage bringing his D.A.D / Al Yousuf Yamaha home in second behind Hicks who took the win for his Stark Future Racing team. His teammate Jorge Zaragoza rounded out the podium and in doing so helped the team to their first AX World Tour Team title.

Wilson, picked himself and his St. Blazey / Armor Vision Honda up off the ground and continued to circulate to finish 10th in the final to secure second spot in the championship, much to his obvious disappointment. Third in the championship went to the former three-time champion Thomas Ramette on his SR75 World Team Suzuki.

It was an unforgettable night of high‑octane racing, gravity-defying freestyle motocross, pyrotechnics, and raw adrenaline in the Etihad Arena for the first ever AX World Tour Finals in front of a partisan and enthusiastic crowd.

A huge thank you to Ethara for partnering with ASL Active to bring this global motorsport spectacle to our region and making it all possible. We’d also like to express our gratitude to Yas Island and Abu Dhabi for their unwavering support and passion in helping launch Arenacross here.

And finally, thank you to the incredible people of Abu Dhabi, their enthusiasm and turnout tonight have shown just how much they've embraced Arenacross, turning this event into something truly spectacular!
