The Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship has officially confirmed its long-awaited return to Sydney, with Round 3 set to take over Sharks Stadium, Cronulla, on Saturday, October 25. This marks the series’ first Sydney event since 2018 — and a bold new chapter for Supercross in New South Wales motorsport heartland.
Known nationally as the home of the Cronulla Sharks NRL Club, Sharks Stadium is one of the most tribal venues in Australian sport. This October, the iconic stadium will be transformed into a high-adrenaline Supercross battleground — with over 6,000 tonnes of dirt, a technically demanding custom-built track, and an electric stadium atmosphere on the edge of Sydney’s southern coastline.
The return to Sydney is a milestone moment for the AUSX Championship, celebrating 10 years since the first AUSX Open debuted in 2015 and nearly five decades of Supercross history in NSW, dating back to the sport’s first appearance in Parramatta in 1978.
Kelly Bailey, Managing Director, AUSX Championship: Sydney has played a defining role in the story of Supercross in Australia. With Round 3 at Sharks Stadium, the action will be intimate and close to fans, high-energy, and right in the heart of a sports-mad community. This is a homecoming with a fresh edge, and fans are going to love it.
Dino Mezzatesta, CEO, Sharks: We are thrilled to welcome the Boost Mobile AUSX Championship to Sharks Stadium for what promises to be an electrifying event. This partnership celebrates our proud sporting culture and brings together the passion of footy fans with the power and spectacle of Supercross. To have secured such a profiled major event is a unique moment for our community and showcases our multi-purpose Stadium in a whole new way.”
With support from the Cronulla Sharks, the event will integrate cross-code content, athlete appearances, and local fan-first promotions to create a uniquely Sydney-flavoured Supercross round. While both rugby league and Supercross boast passionate, highly engaged fans spanning all ages, this marks the first time the two sporting worlds will converge inside Sharks Stadium in a co-branded stadium takeover.
Sydney will showcase elite stadium racing across all AUSX Championship classes — including SX1, SX2, SX3 and junior development categories including the Yamaha 65cc Cup and KTMSX 85cc Futures, competing under lights for the first time in over two decades. The announcement finalises the 2025 AUSX calendar, now spanning four cities and five rounds across Australia’s east coast. A trackside Pit Party will kick off festivities on Saturday afternoon, giving fans access to riders, bikes, brand activations and more.
Following record-breaking crowds and broadcast audiences in 2024, the 2025 season is tracking to be the biggest yet — with Sydney expected to be a highlight of the Championship tour, with special guests and exciting new additions, soon to be announced.
The announcement completes the 2025 AUSX calendar, which now spans four cities and five rounds across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
