Yamaha factory rider, Thibault Benistant has won the Saturday MX2 qualification race after a race long battle with Nestaan Husqvarna factory rider, Kay De Wolf and in third place was Red Bull KTM factory rider, Simon Langenfelder.

Thibault Benistant: For sure it is nice to get a win in the qualifiction. It hasn't been easy and this wasn't an easy one, but nice to make it happen.

Championship points are now Kay de Wolf 337 points, Simon Längenfelder 332pts, Andrea Adamo 318pts, Liam Everts 276pts and Thibault Benistant 235pts.

MX Qualification Race

Langenfelder with the lead in the MX2 qualifier, then came Benistant, Zanchi, de Wolf, Valin, Elzinga, Everts, Farres, Valk, and Reisulus. Coenen was up near the front but quickly lost places and was back in 11th.

De Wolf moved into second place with a pass on Langenfelder, who had been passed by Benistant for first place and on lap two the top ten was Benistant, de Wolf, Langenfelder, Zanchi, Everts, Farres, Elzinga, Valin, Coenen and Valk.

Coenen moved into 8th place with a pass on Valin, and Adamo was way back in 18th place after problems at the start. Great battle between Farres, Elzinga, Coenen and Valk as they battle for positions.

The lead by Benistant was 2.1 seconds with Langenfelder some 3.6 seconds behind the Frenchman. Then came Zanchi, Everts, Elzinga, Farres, Coenen, Valk and McLellan, who has passed Valin.

On lap seven the lead by Benistant was 1.4 seconds, with Langenfelder was also close to de Wolf in third, and Zanchi was six seconds back in fourth place. Coenen up to sixth as he passed Farres and Elzinga but was nine seconds off fifth placed man Everts.

Everts moved into fourth as he passed Zanchi, and the top ten on lap 10 was Benistant, de Wolf, Langenfelder, Everts, Zanchi, Coenen, Elzinga, Valk, McLellan and Farres. Adamo up to 14th place but no points yet for the in form Italian.

With three laps remaining, the lead by Benistant was less than a second and Langenfelder was now 7.6 seconds back, with Everts actually closing up on third place. Adamo 13th and still struggling. De Wolf collided with a lapped rider over a jump and both lucky they didn’t go down. Benistant wins it from de Wolf and Langenfelder.
