From memory, this was one of my final years covering the Bercy supercross. Having attended my first in 1993, and seeing the McGrath, Emig, Stanton era, this amazing supercross went through something of a slump and while 2007 wasn't a bad years, what would follow was probably the lowest point of this legendary event.

Winners like Weston Peick in 2014, Jake Weimer in 2012 and Kyle Chislom 2011 probably the lowest point and when the supercross headed to Lille, away from the beautiful city of Paris, well, I don't think too many people really enjoyed that period, at least not those that had visited Bercy in the 1980s and 1990s.

Now back in Paris, at the brand new Paris La Défense Arena, things have returned somewhat to the Paris supercross many of us old guys remember. Names like Jett and Hunter Lawrence, Ken Roczen, Marvin Musquin, Cooper Webb, Jason Anderson all made the French spectators excited again and no doubt this year will be as enthralling as anything before.

Below you can find my (Geoff Meyer) gallery from the year Chad Reed won from Grant Langston. An older Jeremy McGrath was there and also two time winner, Andrew Short.

I covered the event for Cycle News in America, and a bunch of magazines in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, all over Europe, and many more countries. A time you could go to the races, work for a dozen magazines and make a lot of money. Those days are unfortunately, long gone.
