Heading into round four of the AMA supercross championship Yamaha hold the red plate in both the 450 class and the 250 class and all this despite not having a victory in the 450 main events. Of course Eli Tomac is no stranger to the red plate, as a former AMA supercross and motocross champion he should be considered a major contender and entering this season, everyone wondered if he still had it. Well, he might not have a main event win, but owning the red plate can't do his confidence any harm.

In the 250 class it has all been Christian Craig. Despite going 1-1 in the opening two rounds when he 30 year old American was sitting on the deck of the first corner of the San Diego main event, and in last place, his journey to an AMA title was looking dim. Well, the red plate owner in the 250 class blasted through the (rather flimsy) field of riders to third place and remains the man in the West Coast 250 title race.
