Boisrame on Pole in MX2

Posted on June 13, 2021

F&H Kawasaki rider Mathys Boisrame has taken pole position for this afternoons MX2 races. The Frenchman was part of a very exciting qualification as half a dozen riders held pole at one point or another.

Mathys Boisrame: It is my first pole position and I am happy for this first place, and now we have two motos and it will be tough, but the track is good, a little bit slippery, but we will try and take a good start. We have a good bike and thanks to the team, everything is very good.

While Mathys Boisrame clocked at very quick 1.51.666, his team-mate Roan Van De Moosdijk was second quickest with 1.52.124 and third was Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider Jed Beaton as the Aussie clocked 1.52.316.

Obviously muddy conditions early as the riders deal with the watered track. Maxime Renaux held pole early as he clocked a 1.54.490 and Van de Moosdijk and Boisrame, Beaton and Pancar were next in the early going of qualification. Vialle was out after a few laps and quickly proved his domination of the class as he looked amazing in his first fast lap, taking pole with a 1.54.100, but then Boisrame took pole from Vialle.

Australian Wilson Todd also looking quick as he hung around the fifth place on the grid and Jago Geerts struggling in 25th place. Also, Conrad Mewse back in 16th place and possibly still struggling from his flu.

Not surprisingly the hard pack experts from France looking very fast as Renaux clocked a 1.52.914 to retake pole position. If qualification is anything to go by, we will have some pretty good racing today in MX2.

Dutchman Roan Van de Moosdijk was looking very, very fast in one of his final quick laps and took a 1.52.124 to take pole and become the fourth guy to do so this morning. Geerts was up to 20th and Mewse moved to 8th with seven minutes left in the qualification. Both Mewse and Geerts struggling with their own problems, sickness or injury.

So, just as Van de Moosdijk was getting comfortable with his pole position, his team-mate Boisrame went out and clocked a 1.51.666 to retake pole. This is just incredible how many riders are on the gas in this very exciting MX2 class.

Several riders looking fast in the final laps of the MX2 qualification, but nobody could match that time of Boisrame, who took pole for this afternoon two MX2 motos.
