Bolt Wins in Spain
Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Billy Bolt continued his dominant start to the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, claiming another overall victory at round three in Bilbao, Spain. Competing inside the Bizkaia Arena aboard his FE 350, Bolt delivered a flawless performance to secure maximum points for the third consecutive round and extend his championship lead to 40 points after three of seven rounds.
Billy set the tone for the night early on by topping timed practice as he quickly adapted to the tight and technical track. Carrying that momentum into SuperPole, he delivered a faultless lap to secure the fastest time, as well as three valuable championship points.
Emerging in second place off the start in race one, Bolt immediately focused on closing down the leader in what was an intense bar-to-bar battle on the narrow circuit. Capitalising instantly when his rival made a mistake, the reigning champion moved into the lead and then controlled the remainder of the race to take a commanding victory with a 16-second margin.
Starting from the second row in race two’s reverse-grid format, Bolt initially held back to avoid early incidents before methodically working his way through the field. Calm and composed, he climbed to second place by mid-race and then engaged in another close fight for the lead. Putting the pressure on, Billy made a decisive pass with two minutes remaining and pulled clear to deliver another mistake-free ride and claim his second win of the night.
Race three saw Bolt launch off the line in second position once again, immediately setting his sights on the lead. Making confident moves during the opening lap, he stayed in close contention until a small error from the rider ahead allowed him to take over at the front. From there, Billy capitalised fully, settling into a smooth rhythm and opening a comfortable advantage to cross the line with a 16-second lead and complete a perfect night in Spain.
Enjoying another flawless weekend with a SuperPole win and three race victories, Bolt left Bilbao having once again taken the maximum available points. The result further strengthens his hold on the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, with the Husqvarna Factory Racing rider now enjoying a commanding 40-point advantage after three rounds. Action resumes at round four of the series in Budapest, Hungary, on January 31.
Billy Bolt: “It was a really good night and I’m very happy with how things turned out. The track was extremely difficult and quite different to what we’re used to, which made it a challenging evening for everyone. Even when things didn’t feel perfect out on track, I knew the pace was there, so I stayed calm, focused on my strengths, and trusted the process. We had to make a few adjustments as the night went on, but the team did a great job, and we worked through everything well. Overall, I’m pleased with my riding and how everything is coming together. The support has been incredible once again, and the atmosphere here in Bilbao was amazing.”
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia has raced to a solid fifth place overall at his home round of the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, held in Bilbao, Spain. Fighting hard on the tight and technical track, Josep secured 6-5-8 results in his third wildcard ride in the indoor series. Teammate Manuel Lettenbichler was forced to sit out of the event after sustaining a finger injury while training.
Qualifying comfortably for SuperPole aboard his KTM 250 EXC-F, Garcia gave his all in front of the Spanish fans to post the fourth-quickest time – just outside the points, but securing a strong gate pick for the night’s three finals.
Fast out of the gate into race one, Garcia slotted into third place and held his own ahead of the SuperEnduro regulars for several laps. A small mistake before the rock section dropped the Spaniard down the order and left him in a four-way battle for fifth. Fighting his way through the pack, Josep ultimately secured sixth place across the line.
A solid start on the reverse-grid second final saw Garcia running mid-pack. Despite the compact and technical nature of the track not suiting Josep’s speed and style, he got his head down and began to make progress through the field. With his rivals showing fatigue around him, Garcia climbed to a highly commendable fifth place at the checkered flag.
Just missing out on the holeshot in race three, Garcia was momentarily held up in the rock section, losing momentum and dropping back to 10th. Staying focused, the reigning EnduroGP World Champion charged forward once again, climbing to sixth before a small mistake in the closing laps saw him slip to eighth at the finish.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing now looks ahead to round four of the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, set to be held in Budapest, Hungary, on 31 January.
Josep Garcia: “It wasn’t the best day for me here in Spain. The track was so technical in a trial kind of way, so I struggled to get comfortable out there. I gave my best as always and tried to push in every race, but I made a lot of mistakes as well. I got a good start in the last race, but then I crashed on the third lap and broke my gear lever, so I was stuck in third gear, and unfortunately, the track was more suited to second. From there, I just aimed to get to the finish. I was able to take P5 overall, which I’m still pleased with in only my third SuperEnduro race. The crowd has been great, so I hope to be back here again next year.”
