Rick Brabec has won stage 10 ahead of Luciano Benavides, by 3'43’’. Only three bikers have finished for the moment but the two men’s times were significantly better than the other riders’ at the previous time checkpoints.

The American has also taken the lead in the overall rankings, with a lead of 3'20’’ over Benavides, having started the day 23 seconds down on the Argentinean. With 105 kilometres against the clock to be covered tomorrow, unless misfortune strikes, Brabec is looking well set to add a third title to the two won in 2020 and 2024.

Brabec and Luciano Benavides have ridden at the same speed between 258 and 288 km but the Argentinean is picking up bonuses. Brabec’s lead in the virtual overall rankings had dropped near the end, from 2'44’’ to 2'18’’ as a result, with 23 kilometres left to cover before the finishing line on the special.

Brabec had been quicker than Luciano Benavides between 223 km and 258 km but the bonuses obtained by the Argentinean have made up for the time lost. The gap in the virtual overall rankings remains almost identical to before: 2'44’’ in favour of Brabec 53 kilometres from the finish. On the ground, Brabec was one minute and thirty seconds from catching Benavides on the tracks.
