Budds Creek - Winners

When the name Budds Creek is mentioned, well, I feel sick in the stomach. Not because of the circuit, because Budds Creek is without question, one of the best motocross tracks in the World, but back in 2007, well, the Grand Prix riders got slaughtered by the AMA regular at the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations.

Team USA completely and utterly dominated everyone, winning the MXoN and defending their victory at Matterley Basin in 2006. With Stefan Everts retired, and Antonio Cairoli, our MX2 World champion struggling somewhat, we got flogged. It was for me, one of the most painful days in my time in the sport, because our GP men were miles off the pace.

All the way back in 1989 Frenchman, Jean-Michel Bayle won the 500cc class and from that moment on, Budds Creek has delivered some legendary winners. Of course Ricky Carmichael did at this circuit, what he did at every circuit, winning eight times in a row in the 450 class and two time in the 125cc class.

Also impressive at Budds Creek have been a number of legends, Ryan Dungey won there four times in the 450 class, James Stewart won their four times, three on the 125cc and once on the 450. Steve Lamson won there three times, and even supercross kind, Jeremy McGrath won there twice and did Chad Reed.

Ryan Villopoto won there three times on the 250, but never on the 450 and Blake Baggott won three times in the 250 class. Pretty amazing how many won just once and Budds Creek seemed like a good leveler.Jett Lawrence has won just once, as has Chase Sexton. Eli Tomac only won there twice.
