Chance Hymas - Injury and MXoN
Team USA rider Chance Hymas will rest up over the final round of the of the SMX to prepare for his debut for Team USA at the 2024 Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, at the Matterley Basin circuit in England in on October 6.
Hymas tore his ACL last year and had it repaired, then re-tore it right before 250SX East racing kicked off this season. Hymas has been riding with a torn ACL all season, but he has been able to compete at a high level. However, he suffered a bone bruise in the second moto at Charlotte SMX round and experienced discomfort during the practice sessions for round two of the SMX.
Based on past experience, the team is confident Hymas will be ready to compete at a high level in a matter of weeks. The focus is to be totally prepared to race for Team USA at the Motocross of Nations on October 6.
"Not the news I wanted to share, but I have been dealing with pain and I tweaked it last week and I need a rest and take care of myself. I'm excited to finally get healthy and put my best foot forward for Team USA. This isn’t what I wanted to be sharing with you guys. The team and I made a decision to sit out the next two rounds to do everything I can to get my knee in the best shape possible to represent my country. We will put our best foot forward and be ready for des Nations. I have been fighting through this and I will continue to fight.”
So, with some time off the bike and arriving in Europe with a fresh attitude to the biggest motocross race of the season, lets hope Hymas can represent for his country and put together a strong showing to either help Team USA on the podium, or maybe even a victory.
