Chase Sexton - 100% in for MXoN

Posted on July 26, 2021

Last weekends winner of the AMA 450 motocross round at the Washougal circuit Chase Sexton is full on in for racing for Team USA at this years Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, set for the Mantova circuit in Italy on September 26.

The HRC rider was asked during the press conference how he felt about doing the event for Team USA.

Chase Sexton: 100% I would love to go. I was nervous there, I knew I was on the list to get picked to go, but there were a few rounds there where I was riding around in 8th and it wasn’t good for me to get picked. I hope this weekend I get put to the top of the list. I would love to go and I really want to represent my country and I really want to race the MXGP guys, that would be fun as well. I am 100% in if I get picked.

With a number of riders available, names like Cooper Webb, Justin Barcia, Justin Cooper, Jeremy Martin, Aaron Plessinger and Sexton, it is expected Team USA fight for victory in the white sand of Mantova.

With the American circuits being groomed differently in 2021 and often rougher than normal, that might just be the little thing Team USA needs to return to the top of the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations podium. I don't think anyone would complain with a victory to the once dominant country of this event.

Adding to that, the AMA riders will have just finished their own championship a couple of weeks before Mantova, and word is they might even do the Italian GP (which is also sand) the week prior to the MXoN, which would be SUPER cool.
