Red Bull KTM factory rider, Sasha Coenen completely controlled the opening MX2 moto today, with the tiny twin once again showing being consistent is more than possible with the super talented Belgian. Coenen more or less led every single moment of the race.

The KTM rider also relieved Simon Langenfelder from the red plate for now, as Coenen was the series leader going into moto two. Langenfelder crashed in the final lap and was passed by Everts for seventh place. Second was Kawasaki factory rider, Mathis Valin, with third being Triumph factory rider, Camden McLellan.

Sasha Coenen: I didn't have a good jump on the start, but I knew I needed to be first in the first corner. I was careful, because you can make mistakes here.

Championship points are now Sacha Coenen 303 points, Simon Längenfelder 297pts, Guillem Farres 283pts, Liam Everts 267pts and Camden Mc Lellan 263pts.

MX2 Moto One

In muddy conditions due to a heavy rainstorm earlier, Coenen with the lead early from Valin, Lata, McLellan, Karlis Reisulis, Farres, Zanocz, Janis Reisulis, Langenfelder, and Karssemakers 10th. Lap two and the lead by Coenen was 7.8 seconds as he races off into the distance, with Valin second, then Lata, McLellan, Reisulis, Farres, Zanocz, Janis Reisulis, Langenfelder and Karssemakers.

Really tough conditions for the riders as the ruts are aplenty and the mud has made it really tricky to get a consistent lap. On lap three the lead by Coenen was 5.7 over Valin and 9.3 ahead of Lata, then came McLellan, Karlis Reisulis, Farresm Zanocz, Janis Reisulis, Langenfelder and Karssemakers.

Coenen continued to get away from Valin, with the gap more than seven seconds, then Lata 11.5 back in third, followed by McLellan, Karlis Reisulis, Farres, Zanocz, Janis Reisulis, Langenfelder and Karssemakers.

Lap eight and it was Coenen with 6.9 over Valin, with Lata 13.8 back, and McLellan 21 seconds back in third, then Karlis Reisulis, Farres, Janis Reisulis, Langenfelder, Karssemakers and Mikula, with Liam Everts in 11th after a horrible first laps.

Karssemakers stopped for new goggles and dropped to 11th spot, putting Everts into the top ten and Mikula into ninth place. Up front Coenen held 6.1 seconds over Valin, with Lata 17 seconds back. Langenfelder crashed and dropped some time on the track and handing Coenen the red plate for now.

Valin making a little ground on Coenen, but maybe the front man taking it easy with just a handful of laps remaining? Lata was 20 seconds back in third, with McLellan nine seconds behind Lata, then came Janis Reisulis, Farres, Karlis Reisulis, Langenfelder, Everts and Mikula in 10th.

Karlis Reisulis a mistake and both Langenfelder and Everts moved past, to get into seventh and eight places. Coenen’s lead was down to 4.9 seconds with Valin coming quickly towards the leader. Coenen once again extended his lead to 5.2, so maybe in cruise control for now.

Three laps remaining and the young 19-year-old Belgian in complete control up front and really showing good mud skills. Lata a mistake and that handed McLellan third place, with the others being Reisulis, Lata, Farres, Langenfelder, Everts, Mikula and Karlis Reisulis in 10th. Coenen wins it from Valin and McLellan.
