Coenen Wins Saturday - Argentina
In front of a large crowd, Belgian teenager, Sasha Coenen has won the opening MX2 qualification race of the season. The Belgian was pushed around in the first metres of the race, but recovered well to win easily.
Sasha Coenen: I am happy I won, but I need to do things better and wasn't riding at my best and happy to start from pole tomorrow.
Coenen caught in the start straight and well back in the opening corner, and Langenfelder crashed in the first corner. Reisulis led from Farres, Everts, Valin, Coenen, Lata, McLellan, Mancini and Mikula 10th. Coenen into second place and Everts back to sixth place. Reisulis looking very sharp in first place and Coenen nearly off the track over a jump.
Coenen all over Reisulis and passed on lap two, but looking a little wild is our little Belgian, but also very exciting. Some changes in the top ten with Coenen, Reisulis, Farres, Valin, Zanocz, Everts, McLellan, Lata, Mikula and Valk 10th.
On lap seven it was Coenen with a 5.8 second lead over Farres, then Valin, Reisulis, Everts, McLellan, Lata, Mikula, Valk and Reisulis. A lap later the lead was 7.3 seconds, and Valin was 10 seconds back in third place. Coenen wins from Farres and Reisulis.
