Nestaan Husqvarna factory rider, Kay de Wolf has won the opening MX2 moto in Lugo, Spain and extended his championship points lead over Simon Langenfelder, who finished in eight position. Second in the moto was Laim Everts and third Thibault Benistant.

Championship points are now Kay de Wolf (NED, HUS), 362 points; 2. Simon Längenfelder (GER, KTM), 345 p.; 3. Andrea Adamo (ITA, KTM), 334 p.; 4. Liam Everts (BEL, HUS), 298 p.; 5. Thibault Benistant (FRA, YAM), 255.

MX2 Moto One

In wet and wild conditions, Benistant held a nice lead in the opening MX2 moto from McLellan, Langenfelder, Everts, Zanchi, De Wolf, Adamo, Coenen, Farres and Lata. Valk a crash and well back. De Wolf into third place. Lata also a problem as he dropped down the field. McLellan stalled his bike and dropped to fourth spot.

Benistant with a 2.4 second lead over de Wolf, with Everts a couple of seconds further back in third place. Top ten on lap two was Benistant, de Wolf, Everts, Zanchi, Adamo, McLellan, Langenfelder, Farres, Coenen and Oliver. De Wolf into the lead as he passed Benistant.

Oliver and Langenfelder a crash and the German, who is second in the World running in 14th now and losing major points to de Wolf. Top ten on lap three was de Wolf, Benistant, Everts, Zanchi, Adamo, McLellan, Farres, Coenen, Reisulis and Lata 10th.

Everts into second place, but Benistant fought back to regain second. Lap six de Wolf had a 3.4 second lead over Benistant with Everts 7.4 seconds back in third, then came Zanchi, Adamo, McLellan, Farres, Coenen, Lata and Prugnieres in 10th.

Lap nine de Wolf held a 3.2 second lead, with Benistant two seconds ahead of Everts, who was still third, although Everts soon passed Benistant and started catching de Wolf. Langenfelder in 12th and he will lose a lot of ground to de Wolf in the championship points.

Lap 12 and Langenfelder moved into 10th place and ahead of him was Lata, so ninth could be possible for the World number two. Coenen and McLellan in a great battle and the little Belgian really riding well as he moved into sixth position.

Langenfelder moved past Lata and the top ten was De Wolf, Everts, Benistant, Zanchi, Adamo, Coenen, McLellan, Farres, Langenfelder and Lata. Coenen all over Adamo to move into fifth place. Everts all over De Wolf in the final lap s the team-mates fought for the moto win. De Wolf wins it from Everts and Benistant.
