Nestaan Husqvarna rider Kay De Wolf has won the Saturday MX2 qualification race with a nice performance in tricky conditions. The rains did come just before the moto, but not enough to really make the circuit muddy and the riders enjoyed a close battle. Second to De Wolf was Andrea Adamo and Liam Everts of the Red Bull KTM Factory team.

Kay De Wolf: It was a difficult race. I was struggling with clutch issues and I didn't have a clutch and that is why Elzinga passed me. I was confused, so many things happening, but to win this one without a clutch is really something. I am really happy.

World championship points were now Kay de Wolf 352pts, Simon Laengenfelder 293pts, Lucas Coenen 287pts, Liam Everts 276pts and Andrea Adamo 266pts.

De Wolf led the, MX2 qualifier from Elzinga, Lucas Coenen, Adamo, Sasha Coenen, Langenfelder, Everts, Karsmakkers, Rossi, Prugnieres, Haarup and Bruce. Lucas Coenen a mistake and dropped well back to 26th. Sasha Coenen also a mistake and he dropped back to ninth.

On lap one it was De Wolf with a 1.6 second lead over Elzinga, then Adamo, Langenfelder, Everts, Karssmakers, Prugnieres, Sasha Coenen, Haarup and Chambers 10th. Lucas Coenen another mistake and his heat isn’t going well. The two Dutchies up front making the most of conditions they have had in their country the last eight months.

A long line of riders following De Wolf as Elzinga, Adamo, Langenfelder and Everts stay close to the front man. Lucas Coenen up to 16th place on lap two. Elzinga into the lead as he passed De Wolf, with Chambers going past Sasha Coenen for ninth place.

On lap four the lead by Elzinga was less than a second with his countryman all over him, and Adamo also close. Langenfelder and Everts close, but de Wolf regains the lead and on lap five it was De Wolf, Elzinga, Langenfelder, Adamo, Everts, Haarup, Prugnieres, Karssemakers, Luca Coenen and Sasha Coenen. The top five still really close and fortunately, the rain staying away.

Gotta hand it to Lucas Coenen, who moved into eight place, but 12 seconds behind the man infront, Prugnieres. Everts all over his team-mate Adamo, but Adamo and Everts both passed Langenfelder, who slipped over. Lap six it was De Wolf, Elzinga, Adamo, Everts, Langenfelder, Haarup, Prugnieres, Lucas Coenen, Karssmakers, Sasha Coenen in 10th.

Adamo into second place and Everts also looking for a way to get past the Dutchman. De Wolf a little ahead of that group in the lead and on lap eight it was De Wolf, Adamo, Elzinga, Everts, Haarup, Prugnieres, Langenfelder, Lucas Coenen, Sasha Coenen and Karssmakers. Lucas Coenen passed Langenfelder for seventh spot.
