De Wolf Wins Saturday - Sweden
Nestaan Husqvarna factory rider Kay De Wolf has won the Saturday MX2 qualifier ahead of Mikkel Haarup and Lucas Coenen. The series leader goes into Sunday in Sweden with a lot of confidence around the Uddevalla circuit.
Kay De Wolf: No, he was riding a good race and it was a fun one. The track is really technical, and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully they will put some water down tonight and we will have a track like this tomorrow.
Haarup led the MX2 qualifier, from Langenfelder, De Wolf, Everts, Sasha Coenen, Elzinga, Lucas Coenen, Zanchi, Oliver and Braceras 10th. De Wolf into second as he passed Langenfelder, and Sasha Coenen dropped to seventh as Elzinga and brother Lucas moved past.
Chambers was 11th and Adamo in 14th and struggling on his race back from injury. After a lap the lead by Haarup was 2.8 seconds over de Wolf. Everts dropped to 8th and another mistake by the KTM man.
On lap four the lead by Haarup was 1.6, with De Wolf second, then Langenfelder, Lucas Coenen, Elzinga, Sasha Coenen, Zanchi, Everts, Oliver and Braceras in 10th still. Chambers a mistake and back in 18th position. Everts moved back into sixth as he passed both Sasha Coenen and Zanchi.
Lap seven and de Wolf all over Haarup, and Everts moved past Elzinga to get back into fifth. Not any other changes in the top ten. De Wolf into the lead, and Coenen closing in Langenfelder. Langenfelder a big crash and dropped back to fourth place, and on lap 10 it was de Wolf, Haarup, Lucas Coenen, Langenfelder, Everts, Zanchi, Sasha Coenen, Elzinga, Oliver and Reisulis into 10th.
Final stages of the race Haarup was all over De Wolf for the lead, but the Dutchman holding his nerve and taking the victory. Brilliant final laps with de Wolf winning from Haarup and Lucas Coenen.
