Dennis Heads to Europe
Motoonline in Australia have reported that Aussie youngster Byron Dennis has pulled out of the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship and will make his departure to Europe after securing a full-time MX2 World Championship ride for 2027.
“It’s a farewell to the KTM Racing Team," Dennis said. "Which all goes back to Queensland Moto Park – we finished the ProMX season off strong there, got on a plane and headed overseas to do some racing, and was fortunate to have the support from KTM Australia to do so. We put on a good performance over there, had some good starts and really solid speed, so that really sparked a lot of conversations in terms of what 2027 could look like. An opportunity has now arisen to go overseas full-time and race on a KTM supported by KTM Austria, so I am really looking forward to that and seeing what it brings.”
As a wildcard rider, Dennis raced the final two rounds of the MX2 championship, in China and Australia and caught the eye of many teams inside the MXGP paddock. Now, with a ride secured for 2027, it will be interesting to see what the teenager can produce in the toughest motocross series in the world.
